Interior / exterior graffiti shields for hard or porous surfaces:
GRS 9601 is a water based all-weather-durable graffiti shield suitable for most types of surfaces and stops graffiti penetrating the surface. It captures sprayed, brushed and rollered graffiti as well as having a good resistance to ink and mechanical abrasion. GRS 9601 treated surfaces are also protected from air pollution, weather erosion and damp for at least 4 years.
GRS 9601 is permeable and allows substances treated with it to "breathe". Protective coating from graffiti can be expected to least 5 years when correctly applied.
GRS 9601 is a so-called "sacrificial" treatment and must be reapplied once graffiti has been removed. GRS 9601 is biodegradable.
Application Instructions:
PREPARATION:
First clean the surface carefully from graffiti and other contamination such as traffic grime, wax, oil, paint residues etc. Mask or otherwise protect windowpanes. Ideal surface temperatures are between 10-35°C. The lower temperature limit is 8°C. Relative humidity is not to exceed 95%.
GRAFFITI PROTECTION:
Shake or stir the product well before use. GRS 9601 can be applied by brush, roller or preferable with low-pressure spray. Apply a second coat after the first has dried somewhat. Can be applied onto damp surfaces, but only if the surfaces look dry. Runs and any excess can easily be washed off with water immediately after application.
GRAFFITI REMOVAL:
- Method 1. Normal surfaces:
Remove graffiti with high-pressure hot water at 75 - 150 bar and 90°C. Loose residues of graffiti can be wiped off with rag soaked in water. Reapply the anti-graffiti protection.
- Method 2. Delicate surfaces:
Spray on Cryptol-2 and allow it to act for a few minutes. Wash off with high-pressure hot water at 60 - 80 bar and 90°C. This method is especially suitable for fragile surfaces. Graffiti residues can be removed with Cryptol-2 on a rag and then washed off with water.
RESHIELDING ANTI-GRAFFITI PROTECTED AREAS:
Graffiti removal usually takes off the shield as well. Re-protect with two coats of GRS 9601.

Consumption varies according to the porosity of the surface and how much the material soaks up the product by capillary action.
Consumption estimates are as follows:
Concrete, roughcast cement, bricks etc. : 0.1 - 0.2 l/m2
Sandstone, breezeblock and other
Absorbent surfaces : 0.2 - 0.5 l/m2
Drying Time:
Treated areas are water resistant after 2 hours, dry after 4 hours and hardened after 48 hours.

White waterbased emulsion. Weight: 0.99 kg/l. TS content: 12%. Odourless. pH value of about 8.
WHEN APPLIED:
Transparent, degree of perception dependent on surface texture. UV resistant, weatherproof, graffiti-proof and water-repellent. Note! Some materials may acquire a darker shade or shine. Make a test before, to be sure of result!
SAFEGUARDS:
Use protective clothing and exercise normal safety-at-work procedures.
STORAGE:
Keep in closed original container, away from frost. Use contents within 12 months.
